Training on my own, I had reached both a physical and mental plateau and was bored and uninspired by my work outs. While I was confident in my physical appearance and weight, I had no idea how much more I could accomplish with added motivation and professional guidance. Jeff, you met the challenge I presented to you, re-energizing my workout sessions and developing my abilities beyond all expectations.

You challenged me physically and mentally with each workout. You showed me how to work out smarter and more efficiently and the “lifestyle training” approach taught me how to eat more often and more wisely for better results during and after workouts.

My energy level increased within two weeks of working with you, Jeff. Within six months, I noticed significant changes in my strength and physical appearance. I wanted to drop you a note to let you know how I feel about your personal fitness training of me over the last year. I want you to know how comfortable I have been with your knowledge of training approaches and the male body (physical and mental aspects of training).

I like the way you have always taken upfront time to gain insight into my diet, previous training approaches, measurements, expectations, daily routine, and my work and personal stress level. Beyond your many certifications, I feel that you a have great deal of knowledge on how to tailor your training approach to different medical conditions.

Strength training: Jeff, your approach differed from previous trainers I have worked with. You focused me on more repetitions with lighter weights as a way to “shock” my body and to get it to respond differently. You actually had a long term strategy that paid off!

Enjoyment: I don't have a problem in motivating myself to workout. It is, however, always a plus (and so much more enjoyable) to look forward to the interaction with people at the gym and your trainer. Jeff, you are such a professional and you evoke such a sense of trust and friendship in your business. It is my belief that there’s a certain “counselor” approach needed to be a good physical trainer, which you seemed to have mastered beyond my expectations.

I worked with you, Jeff, for a year. I believe that the “before” and “after” pictures are evidence of money well spent. I always try and push myself and created the expectation for you to push me even harder, which you did. The year’s program gave me additional insight into my body and training approach, which I now sustain without your physical assistance, but have incorporated into my program daily. I can't thank you enough for the change in my life. I have worked out for years and can't believe the difference in my appearance in just 16 weeks. Your program has made a difference in both my physical appearance and my attitude.

I have more energy. I used to be very lazy in my daily routine and now I have enough energy to last all day. I have an increased appetite. My self-confidence has also increased. I feel that I look the best I have in years. And people often at my work comment on how I look "bigger" and "buff." Hearing these comments and looking in the mirror has boosted my self-confidence. I've been working out for years and have maintained a lean build. I was at 142 pounds when I first came to see you. With my limited knowledge about Personal Training, I was unsure at first because I'm a skeptic. On the other hand, as a rather overweight middle-aged guy, I wasn't keen on being the subject of amusement in a gym full of young musclemen. The privacy of your training facility attracted me and you put me at ease straight away.

You geared the program to my ambitions, started me and engaged me in the best workouts I've ever had. You make me work very hard, ensuring that my form is correct and you're totally enthusiastic and motivational the whole time. I have twice as much "bounce to the ounce" when I'm in your training sessions. I just feel really good and I sleep much better as well.

I travel a lot in my work and that interrupts my schedule. I really notice the difference when I'm not in training with you. You don't hurry me, you talk things through with me and you give me the best workouts of my life.

Hey Jeff,

Well I wanted to tell you a couple things. Working with you was absolutely great. I'm glad I had a chance to train with you. You're easy to work with and one of my biggest concerns when I tried to find someone to train with was that I had never done anything like this before and didn't think I'd be comfortable being in a one on one (& very personal) situation. I have plenty of confidence at work and at home, but with people I don't know or in the very body conscious society I feel we live in, I'm very much self conscious. You made me feel very comfortable in different ways. You know how to make people feel comfortable. You definitely helped me feel less self conscious. You also seem to know how to motivate well. You know how to push without being an ass about it. That was something that I also was very hesitant about before beginning with a trainer. I had a picture in my head of some muscle-headed drill sergeant riding my ass until I was about to collapse....I was very relieved to find you were not like that!! For the record I'd also like to say thanks to you for not just the start of a great physical change, but an emotional one as well.

I was feeling physically and emotionally beat down like never before when I came to you. This is why I finally made to the decision to find a personal trainer. Now I feel physically and emotionally better than I ever have before. It's a huge change for such a short period of time and one that every single one of my family, friends and even most of my co-workers have commented on. The attitude and emotional change was something I didn't expect from this and found as great as the physical change for sure. Any time I came to a session feeling mad, sad or beaten down - you always made me leave feeling refreshed and recharged and ready for anything. Sometimes you could pick up on it the second I walked through the door, which amazed me, and sometimes you just didn't know how much you helped my day. Thank you

Through you, I have not only inspired myself and Wayne (which was the most important thing to me), but my mother, my brother and even a co-worker to begin hitting the gym (& a trainer in my mom's case). Dear Jeff:

The beginning of this year was not a good one for me. It wasn't just that I was approaching a milestone birthday but I had gained too much weight. I was out of shape and I was in such severe pain from having two herniated discs in my lower back that I couldn't sleep. If I did sleep, I would literally have to crawl out of bed in the morning. I met with several doctors and their advice for relieving my pain was back surgery.

By March, I had taken into account all that I was feeling physically and emotionally and made a decision to begin an exercise program. I had no idea how I would begin, but I read the ad for bodybody Fitness. I met with you, Jeff, and decided I had found my new beginning.

It is now November and I dedicated myself to my fitness program over the course of the last 7 months. At this point I can't even remember what it was like to have back pain; it hasn't just lessened, it's gone away! Emotionally...well, at my reunion this past weekend... I graciously accepted compliments that I look "Healthier" "Stronger" and "younger" than I ever had.

Does that make me feel better? Absolutely.

It turned out to be a GREAT year!

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I'm very happy I started a fitness program at your studio. Everyone at the studio is friendly. I feel great and I'm even doing cardio at home! It's been 6 weeks and I've lost 12 lbs, 3" in waist and 4" in hips (as of Jan 9) with more to fall off!! Knowing my calorie limits and tracking calories consumed in the checkbook works great for me. I feel that I have made a lot of progress in learning how to use exercise equipment safely since my first training session back in early February. You are an excellent teacher and coach - very patient with a beginner and always quick to provide encouragement and are truly an asset to your company as I'm sure you know.

When I started training with you, my two main objectives were to lose weight and to lower the amount of medication I was taking. Since then, I can see a noticeable difference in my overall physical appearance. I've toned up, my clothes that used to be tight, now fit. My biceps are bigger than they've ever been and I improve my endurance with increased weight and repetitions each time I work out. Working out one-on-one is the only way I'd have done this. I'm not a gym person and like not feeling like I'm on display.

You work around my time constraints and accommodate my special needs. I could have never gotten this far alone or at a gym.

Mark lost 1/2 inch around his waist and 4 inches around his hips. He gained 3/4 inch of muscle on his biceps and 2 inches of muscle on his chest and 1/2 inch of muscle on his calves. Mark has a very selective appetite, so planning his diet and nutritional needs is challenging, but we've done it.

I've been working out with you for 50 minutes a day, three days a week, for slightly over two months. My blood pressure has dropped 10 points, I've lost 15 pounds (I still have 20 to go), and my waist size has decreased from 38 to 35. My stomach is flatter, my arms are starting to show a little definition and my backside has begun to firm up. I have noticed a remarkable increase in energy throughout the day, and I'm sleeping better at night.

It hasn't been easy, my muscles "burn" at the end of the workout and I "feel it" the next day. Every time I feel I've reached my limit, you manage to get a few more reps out of me. Somehow you make all of this enjoyable. It's the comfortable environment and you make me feel like we've accomplished the goals we set together.

Thank you for always taking the time to explain and demonstrate the technique being used as well as taking time to discuss nutrition. You've been very helpful in finding ways for me to continue my workout process, even when I am out of town, using other facilities. My only disappointment is that I did not start sooner. This is the best use of my money that I've made in years.

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy my workouts. I had always heard that exercise improved a person's outlook, energy and sleeping habits. I have never disbelieved these statements; I just never realized how true they were. I feel better than I have in years, more positive, energetic and relaxed. I know I couldn't have done it without you and your gentle prodding. I know me; I've tried to exercise in the past and stopped because I could never get past the hump, to where exercise is a part of my routine. You have helped me to solidify my commitment with structure and support; getting me to where I can see and feel benefits. It was a big decision for me to get a personal trainer. Real people don't have trainers, that's something movie stars do. I didn't want to go to the mega-gym again, surrounded by bright equipment and having not a clue as to what to do or how to do it. I'm glad I found you. I can fit you into my budget and your professionalism was immediately apparent and reassuring. I feel very comfortable in your effective and safe studio. In addition, your private studio allows me to concentrate. Besides, Oprah isn't the only one who deserves a personal trainer.

Peggy has made remarkable progress in strength gain. In her first four months: leg presses: she started at 45 lbs and at the end of four months did 3 sets of 20 reps at 195 lbs; power crunches: started at 27, ended at 200; pull-ups went from 3 to 20; hack squats: started at 45 lbs and ended at 3 sets of 20 reps at 95 lbs. Her list of improvement goes on and on.

The primary reason I selected a personal trainer was to get back in shape. I found that as much as I would try to coax myself, I just couldn't get to the gym, and it's less than a five-minute walk away. I needed the structure, but most of all I needed the assistance to find my way back to looking good and feeling good about myself.

You have been patient and supportive and helped me find the motivation to workout each day. You've moved me along a path that, more than anything else, gives me a desire to improve. This is one activity that I do not dread, nor have anxiety about. For me to travel from Silver Spring, MD, in order to be at your facility at 7am, is not only a testimony to my will, but also to the influence you have on me to make me want to persevere. I always leave feeling better and energized for the day ahead.

Choosing you as my fitness trainer is, by far, the best investment I could have ever made for myself. The stock market could not give me the return that your training has given me. I am not sure which is the better benefit, feeling much better, or being fit - they seem to work hand in hand.

Since Rick started training with me, he's lost 3" around his waist and 1 1/2" around his hips. He's gained 1/2" muscle mass to his biceps, 1" to his thighs, 1/2" to his calves, 1/2" to his neck, and 1" to his shoulders. Skin fold test show an enormous reduction in body fat.

I've been wanting to write you, but I've been swamped with stuff I have to take care of at the office before my travels start next week.
For now, it is true. This week was my last week of training. I will be on the road most of the summer and I am preparing to start a doctoral program in Miami. It'll require me to be on-site as well as distance learning. It is a three year commitment, then the dissertation. In the almost 2 ½ years I've come to the gym, I think I've learned enough to know what I have to do to keep fit. I will have to do most of my exercise in hotel rooms and their facilities, if they have workout rooms.

The gym has been the most wonderful thing that has happened to me. I have become healthier, more self-confident and, of course, I have developed physically beyond my expectations. Thank you so much. On a personal note, you know that the gym and socialization were important to me. I especially appreciate your friendship and sensitivity. Your work has been very professional and friendly. I felt very comfortable at a time I was very self-conscious of my body and health. You are very talented and special person. Again, thanks.
